Ear Candling
Ear candling is an ancient natural therapy that uses a hollow waxed cloth candle to create a chimney effect on the ear. This process is painless, harmless and totally relaxing with a soothing effect on the ear and head.
Ear candling is a gentle, traditional treatment. A hollow cotton candle is placed at the entrance to the ear canal and lit, creating a soft warmth and light vibration that many people find pleasantly relaxing. It is often chosen after flying, after a cold, or when the head simply feels blocked and heavy.
People come for help with
- A feeling of pressure in the ears and head
- Blocked sinuses after a cold or flight
- Ringing and irritation in the ears
- Tension headaches
- Stress, and trouble winding down
What a session is like
You lie on your side, warm and covered, while one ear is treated and then the other. The whole thing is quiet and unhurried, and most people find it deeply relaxing. Ear candling is often combined with a short face and lymphatic massage to help drainage afterwards.
Ear candling is a complementary treatment, not a substitute for medical care. If you have grommets, a perforated eardrum, or an active ear infection, please see your doctor first and let Angelika know when you book.
